Disclosures

Medical disclosures.

Most companies bury this page. We think it's some of the most important writing on the site — the structure is the product, so here is the structure, stated plainly.

Overdue is not health insurance

Overdue is a membership, not health insurance, and not a substitute for emergency care. Keep your major medical coverage.

Insurance protects you from catastrophic medical costs — hospitalizations, emergencies, the big diagnosis. Overdue does none of that, on purpose. It makes the routine layer underneath your deductible predictable. The two are designed to sit side by side.

Your care comes from independent physicians

Medical care is provided by independent licensed physicians and their practices. They make every clinical decision. Overdue manages your membership, billing, scheduling support, and dashboard — never your care.

Overdue is a management company for everything around the medicine. The medicine itself — every diagnosis, every treatment decision, every record — belongs to licensed physicians and their independent practices, answerable to their license and to you.

You are a member and a patient

You're an Overdue member and a patient of your participating practice — one relationship for the medicine, one for everything around it.

Those are two different relationships, held by two different organizations, and keeping them separate is what keeps the incentives clean.

Emergencies

Overdue is not for emergencies. If you think you're having an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Nothing in the membership is urgent or emergency care, and no part of this site should delay an emergency decision.

Cash prices are examples

Example prices. Actual prices vary by market, provider, and service — you'll see the exact price before you book, and you pay outside providers directly.

Price discovery is a research service: we surface real cash prices so you can decide with the number in front of you. The figures shown on this site illustrate the kind of prices members find — they are not quotes.

HSA documentation

Your monthly receipt itemizes the medical-practice portion and the Overdue platform-services portion, so you can see what may be eligible for HSA reimbursement and export documentation in one click. Eligibility depends on current rules and your HSA administrator — we make the paperwork easy; we don't make tax determinations.

We built the receipts to be legible and exportable. Whether a given expense qualifies for HSA reimbursement depends on current rules and your situation; Overdue does not provide tax advice.

If results need ongoing care

If a result needs ongoing management, your physician may recommend moving into the practice's full primary-care membership — typically around $95–110 per month depending on the practice. Nothing changes without a clear conversation first.

Finding something that needs attention is the membership doing its job. The path forward runs through your physician's own practice, at that practice's pricing, and only ever by your choice.
